Tony
Abbatine
As
the catalyst behind the Frozen
Ropes teaching model, Tony is
responsible for the training
program and instructional
model used at all Frozen Ropes
locations.
Tony is the author of
numerous articles on player
development and his work in
the baseball industry has been
featured in Sports
Illustrated, Newsweek, USA
Today, The New York Times, The
Washington Post, Baseball
America and other
print and television media.
As a consultant to their
player development department,
Tony has been hired by several
major league baseball
organizations, most recently,
the New York Yankees, the Los
Angeles Dodgers, the Boston
Red Sox and the New York Mets.
During these assignments, Tony
has presented the Frozen Ropes
Visual Mechanics and Showtime
(mental skills) training
models to the coaching staff
and players, both in Spring
Training and during the
season.
Since 1990, numerous
major league players have
refined their skills in the
off-season
under Tony’s watchful
eye. At the collegiate level,
Tony has provided on-field
support to many programs
across the U.S., including
Mississippi State, Old
Dominion, Cal State Fullerton,
Long Beach State, Fordham
University and the U.S. Naval
Academy.
All-stars Mariano
Rivera, Manny Ramirez and Mike
Bordick joined forces with
Tony and Frozen Ropes to
produce a series of
Instructional baseball videos
for players and coaches that
are being watched
around the world.
A regular on the national and
international speaking
circuit, Tony’s dynamic
presentation skills and
diversity of topics have
allowed him to present at
numerous
State coaches
associations as well as the
American Baseball Coaches
National Convention three
times over the last five
years.
On the international
scene, Tony and the Frozen
Ropes staff have provided
player and coaching
development assistance to
elite
level Italian, French,
German and Japanese teams,
both in the United States and
abroad.
As a former high school and
college coach, Tony’s
research and field work in
pitch recognition and visual
training is considered the
best in the industry.
A 1982 graduate from
the University of
Buffalo and with a law degree
from Pace University in 1985,
Tony continues to challenge
the Frozen Ropes family to
look for better ways to
improve baseball and softball
performance at the amateur and
professional level. |

Dan
Hummel
Dan exemplified the phrase
student-athlete during his
illustrious baseball career at
Seton Hall University. Dan was
a perennial Big East
Conference All-Star for the
Seton Hall Pirates.
Dan led the Pirates in
hitting in both his sophomore
and junior year and was voted
Seton Hall’s Male Athlete of
the year in 1997.
An honor student and
National Honor Society member
at John S. Burke Catholic High
School and at Seton Hall,
Hummel received his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Sports
Management in 1998.
He signed a
professional baseball contract
with the St. Louis Cardinals
in 1998.
Upon completion of his
professional career, Dan has
continued his passion for the
game by instructing players of
all ages. Dan is also
responsible for training the
instructors at all the Frozen
Ropes Training Centers.
Besides serving as a coach of
the Hudson Valley Empire State
Games Baseball Team for 3
years, Dan has trained
numerous collegiate,
professional and international
players. |

John
Nathans
John
Nathans has been a member of
Frozen Ropes for 15 years as
both a student and now as an
instructor.
John attended Trinity Pawling
HS where he received six
varsity letters and was the
team captain of both the
baseball and soccer teams.
After graduating, John
attended Providence College
from 1998-1999. He then
transferred to the University
of Richmond where he helped
lead his team to a forty-win
season and a berth into the
college regional. In John's
senior year he was the team
captain and led the team in
RBI's.
John was signed by the Boston
Red Sox on June 14, 2001. He
has played for the Lowell
Spinners of the NY Penn
League, Augusta Green Jackets
of the South Atlantic League
and for the past two years has
played Double-A for the Red
Sox in Portland Maine and the
Eastern League. |

Kaci
Clark
Kaci
embodies the term great player
turned great teacher. Clark, a
UCLA graduate, was unbeaten
during the Bruins 1995 NCAA
College Softball Championship.
Kaci's accomplishments have
also included being named
Professional Softball's
Pitcher of the Year in 1998
and 1999 and a 4-Time
All-Star. Kaci has coached at
all levels of the game from
Division I at the University
of Florida to high school in
Los Angeles, CA. Clark spent
last year playing with the
prestigious Connecticut
Brakettes. Playing for the
Brakettes in 2002 and 2003,
Clark was a combined 54-2 with
a 0.27 era.
Kaci's high energy and
understanding of the dynamics
of pitching has elevated her
to one of the most sought
after pitching instructors in
softball. Kaci is currently
the National Softball Director
of Frozen Ropes where she
oversees the pitching and
hitting models implemented at
all Centers and also directs
our Cape Cod National Softball
Camps. |
